Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to all use of Talking Shops. It supplements the Terms of Service and focuses on messaging practices and platform compliance (including WhatsApp and Shopify policies).

1. Consent and Opt‑Out

  • Obtain clear consent before sending promotional messages.
  • Honor opt‑outs immediately. Include a simple opt‑out instruction (e.g., “Reply STOP”).
  • Keep consent records where required by applicable law or third‑party platforms.

2. Template and Content Rules

  • Use approved WhatsApp templates for notifications where required.
  • No deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent content.
  • No illegal products/services, hate speech, harassment, or explicit content.
  • No requests for sensitive data (e.g., passwords, OTPs, payment details) in chat.

3. Rate Limits and Quality

  • Respect messaging rate limits and quality metrics enforced by WhatsApp/Meta.
  • Avoid spam: do not send high‑volume unsolicited messages.
  • Monitor bounce/complaint rates and adjust your practices accordingly.

4. Data Handling

  • Use customer data only for lawful purposes and to serve your customers.
  • Comply with data protection laws applicable to your jurisdiction.
  • Do not upload malware or attempt to bypass security controls.

5. Third‑Party Policies

  • Follow WhatsApp Business Messaging, Commerce, and Business Terms.
  • Follow Shopify’s Acceptable Use and API policies where applicable.
  • You are responsible for your accounts and fees with third‑party services.

6. Violations and Enforcement

  • We may warn, rate‑limit, suspend, or terminate access for violations.
  • Serious or repeated violations may be reported to platform providers or authorities.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP periodically. Continued use of Talking Shops constitutes acceptance of any changes.
